The accommodation
On a unique part of Ameland, you will find our simple and cosy group accommodation, the Hollumer Trap. Here you can enjoy peace and space all year round.
The Hollumer Trap is centrally located on the island, between the villages of Hollum and Ballum. The site is very spacious and has a large football field and volleyball field.
The Hollumer Trap was built around 1960 as a farm but has served as a residence for large and small groups for years.
It's simple but still old-fashioned cosy. In the rooms, there is the possibility for a seat with comfortable sofas and a widescreen TV. In the main room, there is a small bar (no beer tap) and a large fireplace.
The accommodation is suitable for groups of 20 to 120 people. The accommodation consists of two parts. If you come with 80 people or more, you have the entire accommodation at your disposal. Check here the availability!
If it is the case that there are two groups at the same time, then of course you do not have to share anything. Each group has its own kitchen, dining room, sanitary facilities and bedrooms. If you prefer to have the entire accommodation alone with a smaller group, please contact us.
Layout accommodation
The accommodation consists of 2 parts, A and B.
A. consists of a spacious dining / recreation room with a bar (no tap) and possibly a fireplace. Depending on the group size, there is a cozy sitting area with TV. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook for your group. There are 6 bedrooms downstairs, 5 for 6 persons and 1 for 8 persons. These rooms have their own shower and toilet. There are also 4 extra toilets and 2 showers downstairs.
Upstairs are 4 dormitories, 1 for 8 people (with shower and toilet), 1 for 14 people and 2 for 16 people. Also upstairs is a sanitary room with 3 toilets, 2 showers and a large washing facility.
B. consists of a cozy recreation / dining room with seating and TV. The sanitary room consists of 4 showers and 3 toilets. There are 3 dormitories, 1 for 8 people and 2 for 10 people. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook for your group. Please note, both the kitchen and 2 of the dorms have access from the outside. Keep this in mind in winter.
Surroundings
The Hollumer Trap is located between meadows and nature, so a wonderfully peaceful environment. Which does not mean that there is nothing to do. A few ideas:
- Mudflat excursion (at the end of the P. Miedeweg) /- 1 kilometer
- Playground 'de Aanleg' /- 2 kilometers
- Golf course /- 2 kilometers
- Beach /- 3 kilometers
- Airport including sightseeing flights and skydiving. 1.5 kilometers.
- Village of Ballum with outdoor swimming pool 'de Schalken' , eateries, Café and supermarket . 1.5 km
- Village Hollum with Lifeboat Museum Abraham Fock , lighthouse (which can also be climbed), cultural historical museum Sorgdrager , cafes, eateries. 1.5 km
